MAT 6699 (Internship) is the final course students take in the program. This is a 6 hour course which you must take by itself. You are in the classroom all day, every day for the entire semester. We strongly encourage you to wait until you have your own classroom to take internship. It helps you financially (paid internship) as well as you’re working in your own classroom.

Teachers of Record

Teacher of record candidates should submit the form below to the internship coordinator during the semester before internship.  The purpose of this form is to determine eligibility for internship.  Incorrect information on this form may jeopardize candidate eligibility. Please note that candidates must have a 3.0 GPA prior to admission to internship.

Students To Be Placed for Internship

Having your own classroom before internship may not always work out for students. Therefore, we offer placement for interns. Placed interns have an online meeting the semester before internship to go over the application process. Praxis Core and II must be completed prior to application and scores submitted to Susan Suits ( in the MAT office.

NOTE:  Students being placed must pay a $250 fee to UCA Student Accounts prior to the deadline and include receipt with placement request. To make your payment, contact Student Accounts @ 501-450-5015. They will then direct you to the Cashier. You may pay over the phone or in person. Inform Student Accounts that your payment is the College of Education candidate fee.
