Ramón Escamilla (Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley) is
Associate Professor of Linguistics. Escamilla’s research interests
include descriptive work on Hupa (Na-Dene, California). He served as
co-PI on a grant from the National Science Foundation’s Documenting
Endangered Languages program from 2015-2020, and has contributed
substantially to the resource Hupa Online Dictionary and Texts.
Escamilla also works in Critical Discourse Analysis, publishing a 2023
article in Discourse & Society on contemporary U.S. media
representations of The Satanic Temple.
