K. Adele Okoli (Ph.D. in African American Studies and French, Yale University) is Associate Professor of French in affiliation with the African and African American Studies and Gender Studies programs. Her interdisciplinary work centers on discourses of race, gender, and desire in literatures and cultures of the French- and Kreyòl-speaking Creole Atlantic, particularly Louisiana and Haiti. Secondary areas of expertise include art history, the digital humanities, service-learning pedagogy, and fashion history and theory.
