Dr. Lara Davis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and a licensed physical therapist. She is a Board Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. In May of 2022, Dr. Davis received her PhD in Physical Therapy degree from Texas Women’s University in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Davis received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2016 from Texas Women’s University in Dallas, Texas. She completed the Clinical Anatomy Certification Program at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas in 2021. Dr. Davis teaches in the areas of Gross Anatomy, Neuromuscular course series, and Complex Patient Management in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. She is also the Gross Anatomy Lab Coordinator for the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences.

Dr. Davis’s research interests include anatomy education, qualitative research, and simulation experiences in physical therapy education. She leads the Anatomy Outreach Program, which brings high school and undergraduate students to the Anatomy Lab and Physical Therapy Center for tours and educational activities led by DPT students. She also provides pro bono PT services for patients with neurologic disorders and values incorporating student learning through patient care.
