Dr. Kevin Rowell presented a 3-hour workshop, “Disaster 101: Basics of Mental Health Crisis Intervention and Ethical Considerations” to more than 50 psychology staff for the Topeka Kansas and Leavenworth Kansas Veterans Administration Health Care System. The workshop was held Friday March 23 in Lawrence Kansas.

Congratulations to Sydney Skaggs, Counseling Psychology doctoral student, for her election as Graduate Student Representative to the Executive Council of the Southwestern Psychological Association (SWPA). Ms. Skaggs replaces out-going Graduate Representative Kelli Wierzbicki, also a UCA graduate student.

Dr. John Murphy, Professor of Psychology & Counseling, presented a two-day workshop for Japanese psychiatrists, psychotherapists, and university trainers March 3rd and 4th, 2018 entitled, “Brief Solution-Focused Therapy with Children and Adolescents: Helping People Change with Dignity” at the Annual Conference of the Brief Therapy Network in Japan (BTNJ) in Tokyo.

UCA School Psychology Alum, Dr. De’Von Patterson, was recently interviewed on WJXT in Jacksonville, Florida, concerning the depression screening for adolescents.
