Women’s Leadership Network

UCA Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) is a network created for women, by women, to support women who are seasoned or aspirant leaders in the home, at work or in the community. The purpose of the network is to provide opportunities for women to connect from various backgrounds in Conway and surrounding areas. This network is an LGBTQ Safe Space Zone and diversity-inclusive brave space. This means that we welcome and respect women across a spectrum of gender identities and sexual orientations. We also value and support members who belong to historically underrepresented and diverse ethnic, racial, religious, linguistic and national backgrounds. The bravery in this network will be guided by the idea of parrhesia. This term, meaning fearless speech, has guided great thinkers and leaders—but it is often misunderstood. Fearless or brave speech does not mean that you are entitled to say anything you want with impunity. Instead, it means that you are willing to be humble, vulnerable, and to take a risk in telling the truths that will challenge one another–and the world–to become better. As a member of this network, you will be asked to pledge mutual respect and honesty. You will engage in personal conversations, and so you must be willing to hold yourself accountable to this principle. To find out more information go to https://uca.edu/outreach/women/.

Goal Setting and Time Management Training

Good time management is the stress-reducing oxygen you need to achieve excellence in everyday life. It is about focusing on the right thing and doing it right. When you become goal oriented you will find yourself managing your time more effectively. Hence, goal setting is one of the most important time management techniques. Living without a goal is like being in a hydroplane situation, a condition in which a loss of traction between the tires of a vehicle and the road surface leads to skidding of the vehicle. An authentic goal is the positive traction that helps you move forward in the right direction. Don't let your time just skid away; gain control by setting meaningful goals. This course will help you set goals that are your own and help you use leading-edge strategies to bring them to culmination.

Prepare for the GED Math Test

Master the skills required to pass the Mathematical Reasoning module in the GED® test series. You'll start off with a review of math basics and begin building the foundation you'll need to solve the types of math problems commonly found on the test. In the process, you'll develop hands-on experience with percentages, proportions, statistics, algebra, geometry and more. Each lesson gives you a chance to apply your knowledge by practicing with the same kind of questions you may find on the GED® test. By the time you finish this course, you'll be much more comfortable with your math skills, and you'll know how, when, and why to use each math concept you learn. This class is instructor-led.
