OARS collaborates with Housing and Residence Life to meet the on campus housing needs of students with disabilities. Housing accommodation requests must be reasonable and related to the impact of the disability. Examples of housing accommodations may include, but are not limited to:
ADA compliant rooms:
- Single occupancy rooms
- First Floor rooms
- Suite restrooms
Housing Room Accommodations
OARS registered students approved for a housing room accommodation must complete the housing application (with $100.00 deposit) prior to the March 31, 2025 deadline. Once you are approved for a housing room accommodation, OARS will notify Housing prior to the deadline above. Even though both the housing room accommodation and residence hall preference will be considered, Housing will assign the student based on the housing room accommodation as priority. Students approved after the deadline date may be placed on a waiting list and required to have a standard room until an accommodated room becomes available.
There is no guarantee that an accommodated room will become available and if it does, no guarantee where it will be located.
In order to begin the process of requesting a housing room accommodation, the following procedures have been established:

To begin a request for a housing room accommodation, students should do the following:
- Submit a new student registration online with the OARS office. When filling out the online registration, please be detailed in your request by completing the additional note or comment section at the bottom of the application. Please detail disability-related limitations and accommodations needed.
- Obtain documentation from a qualified health or other provider in support of your requested accommodation. Documentation should include the diagnosed disability, functional limitations, along with recommended accommodations.
- Submit both the online application and documentation to OARS. You can upload the documentation to your registration application online. If you do not have documentation at the time of online application you can email, fax, mail, or drop off in person the documentation to OARS using the following contact information:
