The Bear Essential Food Pantry will begin its Summer Hours next Monday, April 29th, with the start of Finals Week.
We will be open Monday through Thursday – 11 am – 4 pm.

Women’s Leadership Academy Cohort 2024 and City of Hope Outreach (CoHo) have collaborated to launch Single Mothers Accessing Resources Together (S.M.A.R.T.), a series of workshops designed to empower single mothers with community resources. The workshop series will address the challenges single mothers face when balancing work and family. The first workshop will be on April 27 from 12 – 2 p.m. at Hendrix College’s Student Life & Technology Center. Mothers will learn how to prepare quick, easy, delicious, and affordable meals.
Workshop speakers will share valuable information on meal planning, grocery shopping and creative recipes appropriate for various dietary preferences. Participants will taste test recipes and access resources to learn techniques to make quick, healthy and delicious meals. The event is open to single mothers in Conway and surrounding areas, and registration is free.

Griffin Planetarium shows this Friday April 26 and Saturday April 27 at 7:00pm: The one-hour shows this week include a tour of the current sky, flights around the universe, and the full-dome movie “Edge of Darkness”. The planetarium is located in the Conway Corporation Center for the Sciences. Seating starts 10 minutes before show time. Admission is free. Seating limited to the first 94. No admission after the shows begin. No food or drink allowed.

Due to the high percentage of rain coming in Thursday and possibly Friday, the location for Spring Social 2024 has been moved to the HYPER center. Everyone will need to enter through the main entrance.
