Curious about what makes up an estate plan? Not sure where to start to get your own estate plan together? Join the UCA Office of Legacy Planning on Tuesday, Nov. 12 for a FREE seminar on the ins and outs of estate planning.

Presented by UCA alumna and Conway-area attorney Brooklyn Parker ’12, this short but informative session will cover the differences between wills and trusts as well as the common misconceptions of estate planning. She will also run through what a typical estate planning meeting with an attorney is like. We will have time for a Q&A session at the end. This seminar is eligible for UCA BeWell points.

Do you play Pickleball or have you ever thought about playing Pickleball? If so, come on over to the HPER on Thursday afternoons where we’ll have two PB courts set up from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. No reservations are necessary and all equipment is provided.

The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) will observe its annual Veterans Day Celebration on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Windgate Center for Fine and Performing Arts. The information fair will begin at 12:00 p.m., and the ceremony will start at 1:40 p.m. in the Concert Hall at Windgate Center for Fine and Performing Arts building on the UCA campus.

This year’s event theme is Military Service: Breaking Barriers and Building Futures. It will honor the service of all veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces and feature notable speakers, food, and music by UCA students. The Veterans Information Fair provides valuable information on employment opportunities, support, and other services available to veterans on campus and in the community. In addition, students will be awarded scholarships during the ceremony.

The November 1 deadline for submitting photographs for the 2024 JMNR photo contest is rapidly approaching. Photographs may be taken in any of UCA’s natural areas including in the natural area behind Lewis Science Center and at Steel Creek on the Buffalo River. Students, alumni, faculty and staff are all invited to submit photographs. Winning photographs will be displayed in the CNSM Dean’s Office, in CCCS and LSC, and on UCA social media. Any photographic equipment may be used; many winning photographs in the past were taken with cell phones. Please send photographs (jpg or tif files) directly to me attached to an email. More complete instructions are attached.
