Internship I

Internship I is an introduction to the experience of being an intern teacher with a focus on building skills and confidence in the  planning and delivery of lessons. Candidates integrate theory and practice as they apply knowledge of current research in teaching and learning. Candidates engage in critical reflection and demonstrate professional educator dispositions by building rapport with students, planning and teaching lessons, assessing student learning, and collaborating in a professional learning community. This internship provides candidates with the foundation necessary for continued professional growth and development in Internship II.

Approval for Internship I is predicated by your admission to your program of study. You must be fully (not conditionally) admitted to your program of study in order to apply for Internship I. Please review all Internship I requirements by clicking here.

Attendance

If you are absent from Internship I, follow all handbook directions.  Contact all required individuals to alert them of your absence.  Be sure you also complete this form for each absence on the day of the absence:
