- In collaboration with your chair, you should establish 10 hours each week for office hours. Office hours should be included in your syllabus and posted on your door.
- Please plan to be on campus for a minimum of 10 hours per week. Consult with your chair if you have questions.
- Program coordinators are expected to be on campus 15 hours per week. Please establish these hours with your department chair.
- You must meet your class (either online or face-to-face) during finals week. If you are teaching an asynchronous online course, you must administer a final (project or exam) during finals week.
- Every class MUST have a Blackboard component with the syllabus and grades (if you use Google classroom, post a link to your Google Classroom in Blackboard).
- If you are teaching using Google Classroom, invite your chair to join the class as a teacher. This is to ensure we have a backup, in case of an emergency.
- Remember that finals are scheduled at a different time than the regular class. Here is the link to the schedule: https://uca.edu/registrar/final-exam-schedule/
- If you need to miss class unexpectedly, let your chair know as soon as possible.
- Please let your chair know when you have scheduled “no class” days. For example, if you are attending a conference and aren’t meeting your class.
- You must follow the approved mode of delivery for the class. (For example, You shouldn’t move face-to-face courses online.)
- Plan to attend one commencement ceremony per academic year.
- Please do not come into the building if you are sick or running a fever. Be prepared to move your class online (if you are feeling well enough to teach). If this happens, let your chair know.
- Have a plan for students who test positive for COVID or are running a fever.
- You must collaborate with your Department Chair when applying for external funding (i.e. grants/sponsorships). Please do not solicit gifts or money on behalf of UCA from any person, business, or other funder without first consulting your Department Chair and the College’s Director of Development.
