Internships: Student Information

Internships are experiential education opportunities which provide students the opportunity to apply skills obtained in the classroom. Internships may take a variety of formats. They can be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid, long-term or short-term, and may or may not be eligible for credit within all of the majors that may apply.

Searching for Internships

  1. Activate your Handshake account, and search the job board!
  2. Network with employers through recruiting events throughout the school year (Internship Banquet, Career Links, Career Fairs, etc.).
  3. Check with your professors within your major department.

Internships for Credit

To participate in an internship for academic credit, students must have completed at least 60 semester hours and have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. Students interested in internships for academic credit must contact their Internship Coordinator within their respective departments.
