Mark your calendars for Thursday, March 5, for the sixth Day of Giving.
This is the University of Central Arkansas’s 24-hour fundraising drive in which alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends make gifts to support the campus.
“Each year, Day of Giving has continued to outpace itself. We hope our donors will continue to support the university and our students in the same impactful way,” said Haley Fowler, director of annual giving. “Day of Giving allows donors to give, in any amount, to the organizations, colleges, departments or projects that are special to them.”
To give online, donors should visit uca.edu/dayofgiving. Once there, they can take their pick and give to specific funds among the categories of student, campus and community impact.
Donors may give in person at Buffalo Alumni Hall on the UCA campus. The Student Government Association will host a Day of Giving party at the UCA Student Center where they will collect donations and celebrate Day of Giving and the impact it has on fellow students.
Student impact fund donations will provide students with scholarships and student support services such as the Bear Essentials Food Pantry.
Campus impact funds support faculty and student research projects, as well as service-learning opportunities and state-of-the-art equipment.
Community impact funds offer experiential opportunities, as well as guest lecturers, first-class exhibits and performances on campus that are available to the larger communities of Conway, Faulkner County and central Arkansas. This includes Reynolds Performance Hall events, Outreach and Community Engagement programs, Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre and the Conductor, for example.
