them,” she said. “During the process of remodeling, I found joy and passion for houses and hope one day I can design houses for people.”
Ling worked hard in high school and received an international merit scholarship to begin her undergraduate work at UCA in the fall of 2020. She immediately knew she wanted to study interior design and didn’t let the pandemic stop her from trying to achieve her dream. It was during her interior design studies that she learned the importance of designing a space while considering people’s health and wellness and lifestyle. “Interior design is not just about decorating spaces,” she said.
Last fall during her senior year, Ling applied for a UCA Foundation Scholarship. She was selected to receive the Georg Andersen Interior Design Scholarship. “This scholarship will help me achieve my educational goals,” she said. “Although I work on campus and have help from my parents, it is still difficult for me to handle financial stress. This scholarship will support me through my senior year and give me time to focus on my academic study.”
Ling said she feels honored to have received the Georg Andersen Interior Design Scholarship. “I want to thank the donor for giving back, it really means a lot to me and has helped me a lot toward achieving my career path,” she said.
