Reflecting Together on Curriculum, Student Engagement, and Resiliency

Educators that have had the opportunity to honestly reflect upon and discuss their professional growth, effectiveness, and goals together in a community of other educators at varying stages of their profession have great potential for improving their practice for student achievement. The artworks on display are visual metaphors of Dr. Kuster’s lifelong career as a teacher. These will provide unique gateways for perspectives and interactions and collective commitments toward participants’ professional growth. The hands-on art-making response activities will offer participants new ideas for future lesson planning in their K-12 classrooms. This workshop is most relevant for K-12 Art, Language Arts, GT, and Special Ed instructors. Choose between the 9am - 12pm class and the 1pm - 4pm class for three PD credits, or select the full-day option (9am - 4pm with a one-hour lunch) for six PD credits. The professional development workshop will be followed by an exhibition reception in the UCA Downtown gallery from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. celebrating the current art exhibit, The Makings of a Teacher: Textile Art by Deborah Kuster.
