New – Mathematics Education

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Central Arkansas is seeking to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position in mathematics education beginning August 2016. The position requires a doctorate in mathematics education or equivalent. Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate mathematics education courses, conducting research in teaching and learning and service to K-12 schools and districts in the central Arkansas region.

Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to and proven ability in undergraduate teaching. Preference will be given to applicants who have K-12 classroom teaching experience or potential for conducting research in K-12 mathematics. Regular teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester, some of which can be for supervising student interns. At the present time, the Department has 19 full-time faculty members. The department offers undergraduate degrees in applied mathematics and mathematics as well as masters degrees in applied mathematics and mathematics education.
