Research in Undergraduate Mathematics Education.
While working as a postdoctoral scholar at Arizona State University, Dr. Jason Martin began focusing his research efforts on calculus curriculum design and development. Over the years at the University of Central Arkansas, Dr. Martin has researched student understanding of calculus concepts defined in terms of limit, quantitative reasoning and modeling, tasks engendering intellectual need, how students come to understand formal definitions for limit concepts, and the effect of interactive dynamic images and video supports on student understanding. These research efforts have supported him in successfully obtaining two NSF grants in calculus curriculum development.
