Alumni 100 Celebration
In 2011 the UCA Alumni Association will celebrate its 100-year anniversary. The year will focus on the importance of membership in the association (Join today!), raising scholarship dollars for students (Give Now!) and celebration through a variety of events.
The alumni association as we know it today, began in April 1911 as the Arkansas State Normal Booster Club. The officers at that time were Frank Steed, President; Bessie Lair, Secretary-Treasurer; and Respass Wilson, Press Correspondent. The first meeting of the club was held In December 1911 and new officers were introduced: Frank Steed, President; Hazel Howard, Secretary-Treasurer; and Amy Roth, Asst Secretary-Treasurer. The focus of the organization in the earlier years was communication with alumni, homecoming and eventually scholarships.
We invite all graduates, former students and friends to join us during this year of celebration and reflection!
