Transfer and Non-Traditional Students

Welcome to the University of Central Arkansas!

New Transfer Students – Whether you’re transferring to UCA after completing just a few classes at another school or bringing your Associate’s Degree with you, we’re glad you are joining us.  We know you’re not a “first-year” student like our freshmen, but starting at a new campus always has some challenges.  Please reach out if we can assist with your transition or help in any way.  Be sure to explore all of the programs and services we offer, but especially note the programs below.

Non-Traditional Students – If any of the following describes you — 25+, married, transfer student, parent, military (active, veteran, reserves) — you are considered a nontraditional student. UCA is interested in your perspectives and has staff here to assist with your needs.  Be sure to register for our Non-Trad RSO (below), and see other resources that might be helpful.

  • Non-Trad Student organization
    • Register here for more information about programs and support services for non-traditional students.
  • Transfer/mation
    • An orientation program for transfer students and families held during Welcome Week. Registration requested.
  • Academic Success Workshops
    • Most of us can always learn how to be better students.  Our Academic Success Workshops are offered each week during X-period and cover many of the skills you need to succeed.  We also host a number of online workshops through StudentLingo.  See the schedule here.
  • Success Coaching
    • All students at UCA are encouraged to meet with our undergraduate and graduate peer coaches to discuss study strategies, time management, and how to navigate UCA. Contact our coaches any time by making an appointment through Navigate (via myUCA) or stopping by the Success Coaching Lab in SSVRC 105.
  • UCA Student Support Guide
    • The UCA Student Support Guide puts many of the UCA campus resources in one place.  Be sure to check it out!
