John C. Parrack (PhD., University of Pennsylvania) is Professor of Spanish at the University of Central Arkansas. His research primarily centers on the literature of Imperial Spain. He has edited a student edition of La Estrella de Sevilla for the Cervantes & Co. series published by LinguaText, and has participated in edited volumes, such as Ovid in the Age of Cervantes, Approaches to Teaching Lazarillo de Tormes and the Picaresque Tradition and A Companion to the Spanish Picaresque Novel. He has published essays in journals such as Revista Canadiense de Estudios Hispánicos, La corónica, and Romance Notes. Currently, he is working on the role of art in Cervantes, the fragmentation of Imperial Spain in Ginés Pérez de Hita´s continuation of the Guerras civiles de Granada, and the application of Spanish historical linguistics in second language acquisition. He has worked with the Advanced Program in Spanish for over twenty years and most recently accepted an appointment to the College Board´s CLEP Spanish Language Examination Committee in 2021.
