Academic Scholarships*

To be considered for an entering freshman Academic Scholarship at UCA, you must meet all of the following:

  • be fully admitted by the priority deadline date of February 18, 2014 (final transcript must be submitted after high school graduation)
  • meet scholarship eligibility criteria based on an ACT/SAT test taken within the last five years and no later than the December 2013 test date
  • meet the scholarship eligibility criteria based on the cumulative high school GPA based on the sixth or seventh semester high school transcript
  • no ACT sub-score less than 19 (in English, Reading, or Math) or SAT sub-score less than 470 writing, 460 mathematics, or 470 critical reading

There is no separate Academic Scholarship application.

If you have already been awarded a scholarship, but a subsequent ACT/SAT score submitted to UCA increases your scholarship eligibility:

  • your scholarship will automatically be adjusted
  • you will be notified by mail whenever upgrades in awards have been made
  • the December 2013 test results will be the last ones considered for upgrades in awards

Full-time enrollment required for all scholarships. Students must earn at least 27 credit hours by the end of the Freshman year with a 3.25 GPA to renew the scholarship.

* Tuition/Fees/Room & Board must be equal to or exceed scholarship amount to receive full benefit.

Additional UCA Academic Scholarship Information

  • Early application for admission is recommended in order to be considered for the academic scholarships.
  • Students cannot require remediation (transitional) courses in any subject area.
  • To receive the full benefit of this scholarship, students will need to reside in university housing. Recipients are responsible for making on-campus housing arrangements through UCA’s Housing Office.
  • Scholarship credit hour criteria is based on UCA credit hours.

2014 Transfer Scholarships

To be considered for a UCA Transfer Scholarship:

  • The Office of Admissions and Enrollment Services must have the admissions application AND the Office of Student Financial Aid must have the scholarship application on file by the priority deadline of December 2, 2013 for spring applicants and May 2, 2014 for fall applicants.
  • Apply for admission online.

  • Final transcripts and any other required documents must be received by the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Services by January 10, 2014 for spring applicants and July 15, 2014 for fall applicants.

Transfer Scholarship

  • $4,000 per year
  • Open to all full-time, first-time UCA students transferring from an accredited college/university:
    • Earned a minimum of 27 semester hours of credit, with at least one semester as a full-time (12 hours) student, from an accredited college/university.
    • Fall Transfer Scholarship applicants must have 27 semester hours earned by the end of the Summer I semester.  Spring Transfer Scholarship applicants must have 27 semester hours earned by the end of the Fall semester.  Applicants must have at least earned 12 transferable hours in the semester immediately preceding their enrollment.
  • A 3.25 minimum cumulative GPA.
  • Scholarships must have met all remediation requirements prior to awarding.
  • Scholarships are competitive based on academic performance.

Additional UCA Transfer Scholarship Information

    • UCA Transfer Scholarship recipients initially awarded Spring 2014 or later need to meet the following criteria to maintain their Transfer Scholarship.
      • Remain continuously enrolled in at least 15 UCA credit hours each semester during the 4 semester term of your scholarship. Does not include summer terms.
      • Earn 15 or more UCA credit hours and earn at least a 3.25 semester GPA each semester.
      • The scholarship is awarded for the duration of four consecutive semesters or through completion of the undergraduate degree whichever occurs first, provided the student maintains all scholarship requirements.  Summer terms are not included.

Placing a Scholarship on Hold

A UCA academic scholarship may be placed on hold for a semester or more if a student is not enrolling at UCA (or another institution), and has a documented medical condition; has been called to active military service; is participating in an official religious service or duty; or is studying abroad.  If you would like to request to place your scholarship on hold, please complete the Scholarship Exception Request Form.

Requesting an Exception to Renewal Requirements

Exceptions to the requirements for renewal of a scholarship are granted on a medical basis for severe or life-threatening medical emergencies, or on the basis of the student being called to military duty during the semester.  All requests must be accompanied by appropriate documentation as outlined on the Renewal Exception Form (see below).  If you would like to request an exception to the renewal requirements for your scholarship, complete the Scholarship Exception Request Form.
