Minton Student Associate 2021-22 Application

Minton Commuter College Student Associates (SAs) are important leaders in Minton Commuter College (MCC@Old Main). SAs mentor students who live off-campus or commute, i.e. traditional- and non-traditional students, student veterans, etc.  SAs assist the MCC Headmaster with academic programming, and work directly with MCC Faculty Associates as they connect inside- and outside-the-classroom activities for high impact learning. The position calls for a commitment to Minton Commuter Colleges mission & goals, a genuine interest in leadership, and an open mind for learning new things. Applications for MCC Student Associates open on February 15th and are due by March 15th at 11:59 p.m.  Decisions will be announced on Wednesday, 31 March  2021 via email.

Minton Commuter College Student Associate Application for 2020-21

  • Please list your official major/s and minor/s. Minton Commuter College Student Associates must be students in good standing with the University.
  • Applicants for a Minton Commuter College Student Associate position should have a 2.75 GPA or higher.
  • Please outline in sufficient detail Minton Commuter College activities you participated in fall 2019 and spring 2020.
  • Your answer should be as detailed as possible. i.e. how might you help the commuter community fulfill its mission?
  • What academic (or other!) challenge did you face in your first year at UCA? How did you meet this challenge? Who helped you get "back on track?"
  • Give the name, department, and email address of a faculty member you feel comfortable asking for a recommendation. NOTE: We will contact the faculty member. They do not need to write a recommendation at this time.
  • Check each to verify you are eligible to serve as a Minton Commuter College Student Associate.
