Getting to Know Dr. Medina:

Introduction

Originally from South Florida, I am a cognitive scientist who heads the Psychology of Existence (POE) Lab at University of Central Arkansas, where we evaluate various predictors of moral existential/catastrophic risk judgments. On the side, I also conduct basic research on attention control and more applied research on artificial intelligence.

What classes do you regularly teach?

Psychological Statistics.

 

 

Do you have any hobbies, interests, or unique facts you would like to share?
I am a movie buff who doesn’t know anything about movies, an art enthusiast who doesn’t know anything about art, and a statistics enjoyer who does know about statistics.
What are your scholarly and/or applied interests?
Existential risks, attention control, artificial intelligence, cognitive psychology, and moral psychology.
