Dr. Rumble is an experimental health psychologist with a specialization in chronic disease and illness, more specifically pain. They examine the interactions of the psychosocial and biobehavioral factors that impact an individual’s functioning and overall quality of life. Therefore, their research works to identify biopsychosocial mechanisms that underlie the relationships between risk factors / antecedents of pain and other health conditions and determine if there are differences in these biopsychosocial and proprioceptive mechanisms that may explain disparities in pain across vulnerable groups. Recently Dr. Rumble has expanded utilizing the biopsychosocial model in their scholarship of teaching and learning research to better understand some of the challenges students face and to aid in a more inclusive pedagogical practice.
