Dr. Travis McNeal, a forensics psychologist currently working at Harding University, will be visiting our department on Tuesday, November 6th, to discuss career opportunities in applied psychology with a special focus on forensics.

UCA Psychological Society is hosting a semester planning workshop this Thursday (11/1) during x-period in Mashburn 239.  Psych Soc officers will be available to help you work on your Spring 2013 and beyond planning.

The UCA Sponsored Programs office now provides a database with information on scholarships, fellowships, internships, grants, travel internships and awards for students at all levels including undergraduate and graduate. Check out the STOPS database.

Riley, Ariel, Paula, and Dr. Lammers represented the Department of Psychology & Counseling at the annual College Fair for the Arkansas School for Math, Science, and the Arts in Hot Springs.

Congratulations to Laura Horton (Counseling Doc student) for being selected as the 2012 recipient of the Arkansas Psychological Association Student Academic Scholarship.

Danielle Umland was recently awarded a 2012 APAGS/Psi Chi Junior Scientist Fellowship to pursue her research. Her $1000 award is provided by the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students (APAGS) and Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. Congratulations Danielle!!

The Department of Psychology and Counseling is co-sponsoring a talk by Dr. Owen Flanagan (Duke University) titled “Human Flourishing: Ideas from Brain Science and Comparative Philosophy” at 7:00 pm on Monday, September 24th, at 7pm in the Business Building auditorium.  The event is open to all who wish to attend.
