The Sexual Assault Awareness Event will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McCastlain Hall at UCA.  The event is FREE and open to the community.

DescriptionWomen’s Leadership Network is proud to host a panel coinciding with April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This panel of experts includes prosecutor Carol Crews, with insight into the prosecution for sexual harassment and assault, attorney Mary Buckley, with insight into employee handbook best practices for preventing sex discrimination and harassment in the workplace, and Kiah Hall, the State Advocate Coordinator with Arkansas Coalition Against Sexual Assault to talk about how to talk about consent. Additionally, UCA’s student group Feminist Union will be hosting a resource table for information on local central Arkansas resources to help those who may have been impacted by assault or harassment. The panel will be helpful for women in business or who own businesses who want to be proactive in preventing or responding to workplace harassment, caregivers who want to help their children learn healthy models of consent, and those interested in the available response resources. Come join us for an informative and timely discussion!

The panel will be moderated by Dr. Taine Duncan,  Associate   Professor of Philosophy, Director of the Gender Studies Program.
