Discover something new at the 2011 History Symposium: Popular Culture in History. Keynote speaker and television talent, Dr. Randy Roberts, will enlighten educators with his presentation entitled, “Popular Culture Goes to War: America in the 1940s”.
Additional speakers will shed light on the dark side of the 1950s; examine the popular culture in Victorian Britain; expose the true identity of Superman as a metaphor for Twentieth-Century America and discuss graffiti in the Ancient World. Six (6) professional development credits are available. The event is sponsored by The Point 94.1 FM and UCA History Department. The Symposium will be held from 9:00 am until 2:30 pm at the Brewer Hegeman Conference Center at UCA. All participants will receive complimentary tickets to the UCA football game (Oct. 15) following the Symposium!
