Putting smiles on students' faces is all in a day's work for Ollivander “Ollie” Aloysius Smith, a 5-year-old rough collie. Ollie is a therapy dog who works with the University of Central Arkansas athletic training staff. The Fulbright Teacher Exchanges program has awarded University of Central Arkansas alumna Leslee Tell a Fulbright U.S. Distinguished Teaching Award for the 2022-2023 academic year, making her the first Arkansas high school teacher to receive this honor. UCA receives grant funding from Arkansas Opioid Recovery Partnership
The University of Central Arkansas has been awarded nearly $24,000 in opioid settlement dollars to provide naloxone doses and training on its administration to students, faculty and staff.
