Event Management System (EMS) Training

Are you a new user of Desktop EMS or just needing a refresher. Centralized Scheduling will resume Event Management System (EMS) training beginning August 13th. In accordance with Board Policy 400, faculty and staff are required to ensure that all activities scheduled in campus buildings and facilities are entered into the Centralized Scheduling System.
Below are the Fall training dates for EMS training. All sessions will be held in Harrin Hall, Room 222E. Participants will need a laptop with EMS installed, if you do not have a laptop available, please contact the Centralized Scheduling Office at ucacs@uca.edu at least one day prior your scheduled training to request one be provided.
Fall training dates:
· Thursday, August 13: 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.
· Tuesday, September 8: 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.
· Wednesday, September 23: 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
· Thursday, October 8: 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
· Thursday, October 22: 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
· Tuesday, November 10: 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.

Brightspace Training and Office Hours – August Sessions Open!

In preparation for the upcoming fall semester, CETAL is offering additional Brightspace training.
Whether you need a refresher, are diving into Brightspace for the first time, or just have a question
or two, there are training and meeting options available.
Course Migration Cleanup
Your migrated course is in Brightspace, and you’re wondering, “Okay…now what?”
This workshop is designed to help you clean up and confidently move forward with your Brightspace
course. You’ll walk through a practical, step-by-step process to get everything organized, aligned,
and ready for students—from grades to course activities to dates.
This workshop is scheduled for three hours to allow for individual questions and hands-on help.
Join us on Friday, August 7th beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Introduction to Brightspace
Need a refresher on Brightspace basics? In this hands-on workshop, you’ll gain the confidence
to build and manage a course by learning the essentials needed to teach successfully in
Brightspace. Through guided demonstrations and activities, you’ll discover how to organize
course materials, create assessments, manage grades, communicate with students, and navigate
the platform with ease.
These two-hour workshops are available during the weeks leading up to the first day of instruction.

Purple Passion Tuesday!

Kick off the 2026 fall sports season at UCA Purple Passion this Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the UCA Outdoor Practice Field.
This free, community-wide celebration features food samples from local restaurants, a community pep rally, and fun for all ages. Meet UCA student-athletes and coaches, collect autographs on a limited-edition poster, and grab the fall sports schedule.
The evening wraps up with the crowning of the new Tailgate Champion and the awarding of the 2026 Purple Passion Spirit Stick.
