Finding Funding: Hidden Gems and the Tried and True | Helping Me Help You

In this session, we’ll explore both well-known funding sources and lesser-known opportunities that often fly under the radar. We’ll also focus on how sharing the right kind of project information helps me conduct more targeted, efficient prospect research on your behalf—so the process truly becomes a partnership.

What to expect:

*We’ll generate key search words using AI.
*We’ll briefly cover using the Grants Resource Center’s Grant Search™ database.
*We’ll play a game of “Find the Funder.”
*We’ll crowdsource unusual places to search for funding.

SLANT & Vortex Host Student Poetry Contest

For the third consecutive year, SLANT and Vortex will co-sponsor a poetry contest open to UCA undergraduate students in any field of study.

Entries will be received from through February 15. Cash prizes of $100, $75, and $50 will be awarded for the top three entries and will be presented at the School of Language & Literature’s spring honors reception in April.

Judging will be conducted by a panel of published poets who are also former UCA students, plus one member of the Vortex editorial staff.

SLANT is the School of Language & Literature’s international journal of contemporary poetry, and Vortex is the award-winning UCA student literary and arts magazine, now in its 50th year.

Requests for a copy of the contest guidelines should be addressed to Michael Blanchard, Adjunct Professor of Literature and editor of SLANT, at mblanchard@uca.edu.

 

Summer Camp Informational Meeting

I am hosting two summer camp informational meetings in the McCastlain Fireplace Room on February 5th at 1:30 PM and 6th at 9 AM. Anyone and everyone is welcome. I will go over the process of creating a camp (including filling out the Institutional Camp Request Form), staffing the camp (including making sure your camp is compliant with HR policies), and answer any questions you may have.

If you are unable to attend, but are still interested in hosting a summer camp. Please let me know, and I will find a time to meet one-on-one or in a small group.

Service Excellence Program

Then this one-hour session is for them. The session presents components of Service Excellence (Communication, Attitude, Respect, Enthusiasm) and reinforces the ability to influence in each one of these areas.
