Special Screening of a NASA+ Original Movie: “Cosmic Dawn”
Friday June 20, 4:30pm-6:07pm in the Griffin Planetarium located in the Conway Corporation Center for the Sciences.
Tells the story of the James Webb Space Telescope, the most powerful telescope ever deployed in space.
Cosmic Dawn offers an unprecedented glimpse into the delicate assembly, rigorous testing, and triumphant launch of NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope. The documentary showcases the complexity involved in creating a telescope capable of peering billions of years into the past.
Seating starts 10 minutes before show time. Admission is free. Seating limited to the first 94. No admission after the movie begins. No food or drink allowed.

Griffin Planetarium shows this Friday June 20 at 3:00pm and 7:00pm: The one-hour shows this week include a tour of the current sky, a flight around the galaxy, and the full-dome movie “Supermassive Black Holes: Uncovering the Invisible”. The planetarium is located in the Conway Corporation Center for the Sciences. Seating starts 10 minutes before show time. Admission is free. Seating limited to the first 94. No admission after the shows begin. No food or drink allowed.

Coaches can work with students to improve study skills, discuss time management strategies, and make a plan for a successful Summer or Fall term. Enrolled students in Academic Recovery (alert or probation) can also fulfill their coaching requirements this summer, instead of waiting for the Fall.

The Arkansas Insurance Hall of Fame has announced its 2025 class of distinguished inductees. Six new Arkansans will be honored at the 2025 Induction Banquet on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Thomas C. Courtway Student Recreation Center on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas.

The six 2025 Arkansas Insurance Hall of Fame inductees are:
– Sharon Allen (1944 – 2021) of Little Rock
– Kelley Erstine of Conway
– James D. Lewis of Little Rock
– Robert (Bob) L. Shoptaw of Little Rock
– Tim White of Little Rock
– William (Bill) H. L. Woodyard, III (1945 – 2014) of Little Rock

The Arkansas Insurance Hall of Fame was created in 2015 to identify and honor distinguished insurance industry professionals with strong ties to Arkansas who exemplify innovation, social responsibility, leadership and professional excellence; have made broad encompassing and lasting contributions to advance the role of insurance in society; and have significantly impacted the lives of many Arkansans.

The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) College of Business partners with the Arkansas Insurance Hall of Fame to create and nurture a nationally recognized undergraduate degree program in insurance and risk management. Scholarships are awarded to students annually through the Arkansas Insurance Hall of Fame Scholarship.
