FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

KENNETH W. ABRAMS/PAUL W. KIMBROUGH ENDOWMENT

For full-time African-American students majoring in political science or business with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

ARKLA GAS-CENTERPOINT (ALG) EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students who are children of present or former Arkansas Louisiana Gas (Arkla/CenterPoint) employees.  Selection based on academic record and financial need. Requires a high school GPA of 3.0 or college GPA of 2.5 or above.

CHARLES AND NADINE BAUM SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time entering freshmen, transfer, or non-traditional students who demonstrate financial need.  Entering freshmen criteria: GPA of 2.75 or above and ACT score of 21-23 (24 or above if not receiving a UCA academic scholarship).  Transfer student criteria: satisfactory completion of 30 hours or more from another institution and GPA of 3.0 or above.  Non-traditional student (age 25 or above) criteria: satisfactory completion of 12 hours or more and GPA of 3.0 or above.

BAXLEY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

For UCA freshmen students who will complete 30 hours or more by the end of their freshman year.  Student shall demonstrate financial need and good character with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.  Student must be a resident of Arkansas and have graduated from an Arkansas high school.  Student must be ineligible for federal aid and rely upon student loans and/or family for financial assistance.

ELIZABETH BAILEY BENTON SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students majoring in mathematics or natural sciences with a GPA of 3.0 or above.  First preference given to active members (two-year minimum) of Conway First Presbyterian Church.

BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF CENTRAL ARKANSAS SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students who are, or have been, active participants in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas program and who are in good academic standing.  Consideration shall be given to financial need.

HERBY BRANSCUM, JR. SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students from Arkansas with preference given to first-generation college students from Perry County (Arkansas).  Selection based on a high school GPA of 2.5 or above, with preference given to entering freshmen and students receiving no other scholarships.

BURDICK/MCALISTER SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students majoring in geography or business who are U. S. citizens and demonstrate financial need.  Selection based on ACT of 24 or above and GPA of 2.75 or above.

TOM BURNETT LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students with a GPA of 2.75 or above.  Selection based on leadership and academic performance.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

GLADYS CHASEY LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time entering freshmen with leadership skills and a high school GPA of 2.75 or above.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

CONQUE FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students with a GPA of 2.5 or above and who demonstrate financial need.  First preference shall be given to business majors.

CONWAY CANCER FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students with a GPA of 2.75 or above.  First preference given to students who have been a patient or who have a family member treated by Conway Hematology Oncology.  Second preference given to students pursuing a degree within the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

ELIZABETH WIGGS CARTER SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students with a GPA of 2.5 or above.  First preference shall be given to descendants of Elizabeth Wiggs Carter.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

CONWAY CORPORATION/D. RICHARD ARNOLD SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students who graduated from a high school in the city of Conway (Arkansas) or, if home schooled, resided in the service area of Conway Corporation at the time of graduation and have an ACT of 21 or above and high school GPA of 2.75 or above.  Consideration may be given to financial need.  Children of Conway Corporation Board of Directors are ineligible for consideration.

MELISSA A. COURTWAY SCHOLARSHIP

For students who are single parents with a GPA of 2.5 or above.  If no such eligible student is found, then this scholarship may be awarded to a non-traditional student.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

TOM COURTWAY ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

For students attending UCA.  Selection based on UCA Foundation Scholarship Committee criteria, to be determined annually.

CROW/WHITE EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students with a high school GPA of 2.0 or above or a college GPA of 2.5 or above; financial need may be considered.  First preference shall be given to descendants of the John D. and Flora Boyd Crow family or the William C. and Mary Seay White family.  Second preference shall be given to students who reside in Phillips or Faulkner counties (Arkansas).

MARSHALL DEAN DAVIS SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time freshmen students who are graduates of Booneville (Arkansas) High School pursuing a degree in English, history or journalism.  Preference shall be given to students with financial need.

JAMES R. AND ELIZABETH STOUT DAILEY SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students who demonstrate financial need with a GPA of 2.5 or above.  First preference given to students who plan to major in education and teach.

G. A. AND JEAN DAVIDSON SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students who are U. S. citizens born in Arkansas with an ACT of 26 or above and a high school GPA of 3.0 or above.  First preference given to entering freshmen from Jacksonville High School who plan to major in early childhood education or business education and teach.  Leadership and participation activities shall also be considered.

FRANKLIN L. DICKEY SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate or graduate students who are U. S. citizens with a declared major in mathematics or science.  Students must have completed 30 hours or more prior to applying, demonstrate financial need and have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above. 

DIXIE BAND CAMP SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students who are members of the UCA band and have attended the Dixie Band Camp.  Preference may be given to music majors.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

GRAYDON AND BONNIE BEARDEN DODSON SCHOLARSHIP

For sophomore, junior or senior students who demonstrate strong financial need and are in good academic standing.  Recipient shall be a student who has completed the requirements from an Arkansas high school or if home schooled is a resident of Arkansas.

DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS

For full-time students with a GPA of 2.75 or above.  Selection shall be based on financial need and academic performance.

JIMMY AND CLEDA DRIFTWOOD ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students who demonstrate financial need.  Preference (in descending order) given to the following majors: music, poetry or history.

FAY DEAN DUNEVANT SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time female African-American students who are residents of Faulkner County (Arkansas) and majoring within the College of Fine Arts and Communication.  The recipient shall be an active member of their church with preference given to a student involved in the church’s music program.  Selection shall be based on financial need and cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

BILL AND BENEVA FARRIS SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time entering freshmen from Faulkner County (Arkansas) with a high school GPA of 2.75 or above who manifest academic seriousness and discipline; demonstrate sound moral character and personal maturity.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

H. M. FIRESTONE & FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students with a GPA of 2.75 or above.  Selection shall be based on financial need and academic performance.

JOHN M. GARNER AND BOBBIE GARNER FLOYD SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students with preference given to Wynne High School, Cross County High School or a high school in one of these Arkansas counties: Cross, Greene, Poinsett, St. Francis, or Woodruff.  Selection based on ACT of 24 or above and a high school GPA of 3.0 or above, with preference given to entering freshmen and students receiving no other UCA funded scholarships.

ARCH FORD ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time rising sophomore students who are in good academic standing and who will complete 30 hours or more by the end of their freshman year with a GPA of 2.5 or above.  Students must have graduated from an Arkansas high school and be PELL grant eligible.  Preference shall be given to first-generation college students.

DONIS W. FORD MEMORIAL BOOK AWARD

For full-time junior or senior African-American students majoring in English, African-American Studies or Writing with a GPA of 3.0 or above.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

FOUNDATION GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students with a GPA of 2.75 or above.  Selection shall be based on financial need and academic performance.

ROBERT W. “BOB” GATES SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students currently employed within the University of Central Arkansas Public Safety and/or working as an Emergency Medical Technician in Faulkner County (Arkansas).  Must be in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.  Consideration may be given to financial need.  For more information, contact (501) 450-3111.

For students from Yell County (Arkansas). First preference given to music majors.  Consideration shall be given to financial need.

For full-time students who are Arkansas residents with first preference given to African-American students.  Consideration shall be given to financial need.

For full-time students who have completed 60 or more hours with a GPA of 2.5 or above.  Student must be a member in good standing of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity and have demonstrated leadership to the fraternity and the university.  Preference may be given to financial need.

JUDGE W. M. AND SARAH “SALLY” REYNOLDS HARPER SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students with a GPA of 2.5 or above.  Selection shall be based on financial need and academic performance.

HARVEY-MITCHELL/FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students with a high school or college GPA of 3.0 or above.  Selection based on academic performance, financial need, and being active in worship and work of a Christian congregation.  Preference shall be given to qualifying applicants who are members of the First Presbyterian Church of Conway.

VIRGINIA LOVELL HIGHTOWER SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students with a GPA of 2.75 or above.  Selection based on financial need and academic performance.

HOLLOWAY/HICKS SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time entering freshmen with first preference given to African-American students from Monroe County (Arkansas).  Second preference given to Arkansas African-American students.  Selection based on high school GPA of 2.5 or above and financial need.

For full-time students with a GPA of 2.5 or above.  Selection based on financial need and academic performance.

ALLEN AND MARYLOU KILGORE SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time rising sophomore students in good academic standing with a GPA of 2.5 or above.  Preference shall be given to students who have lost one or both parents, PELL grant eligible and have minimal academic support.

DON KING/SIGMA TAU GAMMA SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students who have completed 60 or more hours with a GPA of 2.5 or above.  Student must be a member in good standing of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity and have demonstrated leadership to the fraternity and the university.  Preference may be given to financial need.

OLIVER “GHANDI” LEWIS, JR. SCHOLARSHIP

For students seeking a degree in business at UCA.  First preference shall be given to African American students seeking a degree in business.  Financial need may be considered.

JOHN AND REBECCA LUSK SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students from Union County (Arkansas) with an ACT of 24 or above and high school GPA of 2.75 or above.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

AARON B. MACKEY SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time African-American students who have been accepted into the athletic or communication programs at UCA.  Requires a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above and ACT of 18 or above.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

JOSEPH NORMAN MANLEY SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time African-American students with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

CAROLYN MANN SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time entering freshmen who are graduates of a high school in Lonoke County (Arkansas) in good academic standing.  Preference shall be given to graduates from Carlisle High School.  Consideration shall be given to financial need.

CAROLYN MANN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time entering freshmen who are Arkansas residents and in good academic standing.  Consideration shall be given to financial need.

CAROLYN MANN “EAST” INITIATIVE SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time entering freshmen with first preference given to Arkansas residents who participated in a high school EAST Initiative program and who exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit.  Consideration shall be given to financial need.  A letter of recommendation from your EAST facilitator is required.

ROBERT M. MCLAUCHLIN GRADUATE EDUCATION MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students who are U. S. citizens and enrolled in a graduate program at UCA.  Preference shall be given to Arkansas residents.  Selection based on academic performance, financial need, school and community involvement.

XZIN MCNEAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students enrolled in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.  Selection based on financial need and GPA of 2.5 or above.

MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students with a GPA of 2.75 or above.  Selection may be based on financial need and academic performance.

BILL AND JOYCE MILLER FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students with preference given to students who have been a member of the Boys and Girls Club of their respective community.  Second preference given to students pursuing a degree in the College of Liberal Arts.  Requires an ACT of 24 or above and a high school cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

HOWARD R. AND EMILY MONTGOMERY SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time entering freshmen who are graduates of Arkansas High School in Texarkana (Arkansas).  Preference shall be given to students from Arkansas High School.  Second preference shall be given to any high school student from Texarkana (Arkansas).  Selection based on ACT of 24 or above and high school GPA of 2.75 or above.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

PAUL MOORE SCHOLARSHIP

For entering freshmen or non-traditional students with a GPA of 2.5 or above.  First preference shall be given to full-time entering freshmen students and second preference shall be given to non-traditional students who are registered for a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester.  Consideration shall be given to financial need.

ROBIN NIX SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students who are members of the UCA tennis team or band.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

MISS EUGENIA M. OLIVER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time junior or senior female students under the age of 23 with 60 hours or more completed at UCA.  Preference given to St. Francis County (Arkansas) graduates.  Selection shall be based on financial need, potential and academic performance.

W. E. AND IRENE K. PENNINGTON SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students with a GPA of 2.75 or above.  Selection may be based on financial need and academic performance.

PHI LAMBDA CHI/CASEY KECK SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students with a GPA of 2.5 or above.  Preference given to Phi Lambda Chi members.  Selection based on academic performance, student activities and financial need.

DELMA JO PRINCE SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students who are U. S. citizens with a high school GPA of 3.3 or above and in the top 15% of his/her graduating class.  Financial need shall be considered.

REGIONS BANK SCHOLARSHIP

For a full-time entering freshman student from a Faulkner County (Arkansas) high school. Selection based on ACT Score, Class Rank and a minimum high school GPA of 3.25 or above. Selection may be based on academic performance.

MARIE AND WALTER SCHAFFHAUSER SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students who are graduates of a Phillips County (Arkansas) high school.  First preference given to graduates of Marvel Academy.

JAMES W. AND PEGGY SCHNEIDER SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students with a GPA of 2.75 or above.  Selection may be based on financial need and academic performance.

PAM SNIDER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time female, junior, senior or graduate students with financial need and a GPA of 2.5 or above. First preference shall be given to students of American Indian descent.  Second preference shall be given to students majoring in elementary education and third preference given to students majoring in psychology or counseling.

JAMES TAYLOR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

For students who demonstrate financial need with a GPA of 2.5 or above.  Selection shall be based on financial need and academic performance.

TEMPLETON SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students with a GPA of 3.0 or above.  Consideration shall be given to financial need.

UNIVERSITY WOMEN’S BOOK SCHOLARSHIP

For non-traditional female students in a degree program.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

MAURICE WEBB ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students majoring in history or education who have completed 30 hours or more with a GPA of 3.0 or above.  Consideration shall be given to financial need.

EUGENE AND HAZEL WEIR SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students with preference given to Pope County (Arkansas) graduates.  Selection shall be based on financial need.

FARRIS W. AND ANN BRANDON WOMACK SCHOLARSHIP

For Arkansas residents from one of the following counties: Calhoun, Cleburne or Dallas.  Requires ACT of 24 or above and high school GPA of 2.75 or above.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

WM. H. “HANK” ADAMS SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students in good academic standing, with a declared major, who are U. S. citizens. Must be a resident of Arkansas or be the child/grandchild of a former student completing 60 or more hours at UCA or a graduate of UCA. Preference is given to students who do not qualify for or receive other academic scholarships or grants and demonstrate financial need.

AFRICAN-AMERICAN ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time African-American first-year students who graduated from a high school in Ashley, Drew, Union, Desha, Phillips, Chicot, St. Francis, or Jefferson counties (Arkansas), have an ACT of 21 or above and a high school GPA of 3.25 or above.  Proof of financial need and a 200-300 word essay explaining the impact the recipient will have on African-American culture at UCA are required.

MARVIN BISHOP MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students who have completed 30 or more hours with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above, and who are residents of the state of Arkansas.  Preference is given to Cherokee descendants.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

HARVEY A. BUFFALO ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students with 12 hours or more completed at UCA and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.  Consideration will be given to applicants with 24 or more hours completed at UCA.  Applicant must demonstrate dependence upon their own efforts, in whole or in part, to fund their education.

KATHY CARROLL GENERAL ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students with 60 or more hours with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.  Consideration may be given toward a child or grandchild of a graduate of UCA, financial need, and demonstrated leadership and service at UCA.

DAVID AND LAURA GRIMES SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time entering freshmen and current UCA students who are graduates of Conway or Springdale Public Schools with a high school GPA of 2.5 or above.  Preference is given to descendants of David and Laura Grimes and their siblings.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

B. A. LEWIS GRADUATE EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students who have been accepted into graduate school or who have completed 6 or more graduate hours at UCA with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.

GREGORY E. HUNT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

For undergraduate students who have competed 30 or more hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.  Preference given to African-American males from Lonoke (Arkansas).  Consideration may be given to financial need.

DOROTHY M. LONG SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students who are majoring in mathematics or within the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics who have completed 60 or more hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

MELISSA METHENY SCHOLARSHIP

For undergraduate students majoring in business, music, nursing or education who are from Faulkner County (Arkansas) with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.  Preference given to relatives of the Melissa Metheny family.

H. L. MINTON STUDENT ASSISTANCE SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students who have completed 60 or more hours at UCA.  Must be a resident of Arkansas or be the child/grandchild of a former student completing 60 or more hours at UCA or a graduate of UCA.

JAN A. NEWCOMER ASSOCIATION OF FUTURE ALUMNI (AFA) ENDOWMENT

For undergraduate students who are current members of the Association of Future Alumni (AFA) and are in good academic standing. Consideration may be given to financial need.

JOHN C. ROHWEDER SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students who have completed 30 or more hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.  Preference is given to non-traditional students, students majoring in writing, or students pursuing a degree within the College of Fine Arts and Communication.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

SILAS AND MARY SNOW SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students who have completed 60 or more hours at UCA, with a declared major, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or above.  A 250-300 word essay explaining the recipient’s choice of major is required.

SULLARDS FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students who have completed 60 or more hours with at least 30 hours completed in the College of Education at UCA, have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above, and is a child or grandchild of a graduate of UCA.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

UCA LICENSE PLATE PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students or full or part-time graduate students.  Consideration may be given to financial need, academic performance, demonstrated leadership at UCA, and graduates of UCA who are pursuing a graduate degree at UCA.

DR. JOE AND CHARLENE WALTHALL SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time undergraduate students who are pursuing a degree in special education or early childhood education, have completed 60 or more hours, and have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.  Consideration may be given to financial need.

NATIONAL WALLCOVERING SCHOLARSHIP

For students majoring in interior design, have an ACT of 24 or above, and a minimum high school GPA of 2.75.

WINDGATE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

For entering students majoring in art. Selection based on talent and financial need. The application form is available on the Department of Art website. Go to uca.edu/art, select

For junior or senior students majoring in art. Selection based on financial need, academic and/or studio performance. Recipients of the junior/senior Windgate Foundation

For full-time students majoring in English and minoring in Education with a GPA of 3.0 or above.  Students must be pursuing a degree to become an English teacher.

EUGENE NOLTE SCHOLARSHIP

For the “Outstanding Student in English.”  Awarded to a junior with a GPA of 3.0 or above for senior year.

WILLIAMS/ARNOLD SCHOLARSHIP

For junior or senior students with a GPA of 3.25 or above and who are pursuing a degree in English with teaching licensure.

JAMES BRIDGES PERFORMING ARTS SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students majoring in film, theatre or creative writing.  Applicants must have 45 hours or more completed at UCA with a GPA of 2.5 or above and must have an intense interest in writing, directing or acting for the stage, television or motion pictures.

WILL COUNTS JOURNALISM SCHOLARSHIP

For full-time students majoring in journalism who have completed 60 hours or more with a GPA of 2.5 or above.  Consideration shall be given to financial need.

JERRY OVERTON SCHOLARSHIP

For a junior or senior nursing student enrolled full time in required nursing courses and in good academic standing. Requires a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and that recipients will have completed at least one academic year of the nursing major when the award is received.   In addition, it recognizes nursing students who demonstrate high professional standards, meaningful engagement in learning activities and quality nursing care.

JOHNELLE HUNT GRADUATE NURSING FELLOWSHIP

For graduate nursing students enrolled in the Nurse Educator Clinical Specialty (NECS) program and currently working as a nurse educator or clinical instructor.  CNL or NP students may be considered if no qualified NECS apply.  Preference will be given to MSN students who teach or serve as clinical faculty.

For a rising Year 2 or Level 4 student.  Student must display quality nursing care and professionalism.  Financial need shall be considered.

For a rising Year 2 or Level 4 student who is a single parent in financial need.  Student must be enrolled in all required nursing courses for that academic year.  Must be in good academic standing in the School of Nursing. 

PARTNERSHIP FOR CLINICAL EXCELLENCE

For students who have been accepted into UCA’s BSN nursing program and who are also accepted into Conway Regional Health System Partnership for Clinical Excellence program.  Students accepted into this program will receive monetary support while in nursing school and then will apply for employment as a Registered Nurse and commit to working for Conway Regional Health System for a minimum of 24 months following graduation and licensure.

RIGGS ASHCRAFT NURSING SCHOLARSHIP

For a Year 1 UCA BSN nursing student from an underrepresented minority (racial, ethnic, and/or gender) with financial need.  Recipient must be a U. For an active graduating Student of Pre-Occupational Therapy (SPOT) member that displays great potential for success in their future career as an Occupational Therapist and has been accepted into an Occupational Therapy program of their choosing.  Recipient must have attended two SPOT meetings per semester for at least four semesters and be current on dues owed for those semesters.  Requires a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and recipient must complete 12 undergraduate or 6 graduate semester hours.
