Biography
Dr. Crystal Harris has been an educator for 15 years. She is native to Detroit, Michigan, yet grew up in Arkansas where she completed a Master’s degree in Education and worked for nearly a decade teaching literature to high school students for Conway Public Schools. She earned a PhD in Literary and Cultural Studies with a concentration in African American Literature from the University of Memphis. As an advocate for education and diversity, Dr. Harris aligns her research with volunteerism in order to seek justice for educational disparities and promote cultural responsibilities. She has published works on diverse literary, social, and pedagogical topics. Her current project seeks to engage the local community on topics of survival, secrecy, and Black womanhood.
