Peter Lang (PhD, University of Missouri, Columbia) is a Visiting Lecturer of
English at UCA. He joined the UCA faculty in the fall of 2022. His research
and teaching interests include literary modernism, critical theory, and film.
Specifically, Lang’s research focuses on the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze,
biosemiotics, embodied cognition, and the ways in which modernist literature
has provided a method and vocabulary for approaching notions of
embodiment and subjectivity prior to contemporary theoretical and scientific
advancements. His essay, “Openness from Closure: Creative Emergence
and Embodied Dynamics in Eraserhead” will be included in the
forthcoming Critical Companion to David Lynch from Lexington Books.
