Identifying and Treating the Elephant in the Room: An Executive Dysfunction Bootcamp

Date and Time: Friday, March 10, 2023 – 7:45 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Speaker: Elizabeth Cleveland, PhD, CCC-SLP

This presentation will examine the inner workings and neural substrates of neurotypical executive function. We will then discuss symptoms of executive function in the classroom, the therapy room, and at home. Time will be allotted to discuss therapeutic approaches to executive dysfunction intervention on skill building techniques and compensatory strategies.

The afternoon sessions will have a focus on executive dysfunction in the fetal alcohol spectrum disorder population, including how to identify it and how to conduct FASD-specific interventions. And finally, we will wrap up the bootcamp with several case studies.
