The UCA advisors are a great group. Y’all always seem to have enthusiasm. That’s a great thing for the students to see. On behalf of the Insurance & Risk Management program, please share our appreciation of UCA’s academic advisors. While most faculty are frolicking about during the summer, we know the advisors stick around and give important guidance to our freshmen, transfer students, and athletes. As a token of appreciation, we dropped off an umbrella to every academic advisor…for those rainy and sunny summer days. – Dr. Thomas Snyder

Leila Dickinson takes great care of all our students in the Department of Nutrition and Family Sciences. She comes to speak in my NUTR 1100 class twice each fall and spring and knows these students already from meeting them in the summer at SOAR. They know her and speak highly of their interactions with her. She knows the “ins and outs” of our degree plans so students get the right guidance, but more than that, she works to help them succeed personally. She gets to know them as people–their goals, their aptitudes, and their dreams. She encourages them to get involved and make connections in their major and on campus. She knows that is what will truly contribute to their success at UCA and in life. We are blessed with Leila working with our students and with all the wonderful team in the Academic Advising Office at UCA! – Dr. Nina Roofe
Dear CNSM Advisors,
On behalf of the faculty of the College of natural Sciences and Mathematics, I am writing to you to express our thanks for all the things that you do to ensure that our students are successful. We know the effort that it takes to remain current with our offerings, and the efforts that you expend to ensure that students remain on track for on-time graduation and ensuring that they learn about other opportunities available to them in the STEM fields. I am sure that the conditions that we were operating under this year made your jobs even more difficult than usual. This year has taught us many new things – perhaps virtual advising will now forever be a part of our offerings, it has certainly been helpful for some students.
