The deadline for Entering Freshman Scholarships was February 1, 2012.  No new incoming freshman scholarships are being awarded at this time.  Please view our other departmental and private scholarship options.

Transfer Students

The deadline to apply for UCA Transfer Scholarships was May 1, 2012.  No new applications are being accepted at this time.  Transfer Scholarship awards will be made after the June 15th, 2012.  Please view our other departmental and private scholarship options.

UCA Transfer Scholarship

  • $2,000 per semester or $4,000 per year
  • Awarded for four (4) consecutive semesters, not to include summer semesters.
  • Eligibility Requirements: First-time UCA students transferring from a two-year college, including out of state institutions who have earned a minimum of 60 transferable hours by spring 2012 and have a 3.25 cumulative GPA. Hours earned at four-year institutions will be considered, but the majority of hours earned must be from a two-year institution.  Please note that transfer scholarship are competitive.
To be considered for a UCA Transfer Scholarship:

  • The Office of Student Financial Aid must receive your Transfer Scholarship Application by the priority deadline – May 1, 2012.  **THIS DEADLINE HAS PASSED AND NO NEW TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED AT THIS TIME**
  • The Office of Admissions must have an application for admission on file by the priority deadline – May 1, 2012. Apply for Admission online at uca.edu/admissions/apply/transfer/.
  • Final transcripts and any other required documents must be received by the Office of Admissions by June 15, 2012.

2012-2013 Entering Freshmen

Freshman students who are fully admitted to UCA by February 1, 2012 will be considered for the academic scholarships. There is no separate scholarship application. The last test score accepted for scholarship eligibility is the DECEMBER 2011 ACT.  Only documentation received by the February 1, 2012 priority deadline will be considered for Academic Scholarship award/upgrade purposes.  This includes ACT/SAT and high school GPA information.

UCA Distinguished Scholarship

  • $4,250 per semester or $8,500 per year
  • Awarded for eight (8) consecutive semesters, not to include summer semesters.
  • Eligibility Requirements Include: National Merit/Achievement Finalist or Semifinalist and 3.25 cumulative high school GPA OR a 31-36 ACT/1360-1600 recentered SAT AND 3.25 cumulative GPA.  An 8 semester high school transcript will be required for scholarship disbursement.
  • Students are encouraged to apply to the Honors College where they may compete for additional scholarships.

UCA Excellence Scholarship

  • $3,250 per semester or $6,500 per year
  • Awarded for eight (8) consecutive semesters, not to include summer semesters.
  • Eligibility Requirements : 29-30 ACT/1290-1350 recentered SAT and 3.25 cumulative high school GPA.  An 8 semester high school transcript will be required for scholarship disbursement.

UCA Achievement Scholarship

  • $2,500 per semester or $5,000 per year
  • Awarded eight (8) consecutive semesters, not to include summer semesters.
  • Eligibility Requirements: 27-28 ACT/1210-1280 recentered SAT and a 3.25 cumulative high school GPA.  An 8 semester high school transcript will be required for scholarship disbursement.

UCA University Scholarship

  • $1,250 per semester or $2,500 per year
  • Awarded for eight (8) consecutive semesters, not to include summer semesters.
  • Eligibility Requirements: 24-26 ACT/1090-1200 recentered SAT and a 3.25 cumulative high school GPA.  An 8 semester high school transcript will be required for scholarship disbursement.

UCA Leadership Scholarship

  • $750 per semester or $1,500 for the student's freshmen year
  • Awarded for two (2) consecutive semesters, not to include summer semesters. This scholarship is only available for the student's freshmen year at UCA.
  • Eligibility Requirements: 23 ACT/1050-1080 recentered SAT and a 3.25 cumulative high school GPA OR top 10% of high school graduating class.  An 8 semester high school transcript will be required for scholarship disbursement.

 

The University of Central Arkansas awards academic scholarships to entering freshmen based on high school GPA and ACT/SAT scores (December is the last ACT score accepted).  ACT/SAT scores and high school GPA information must be received by the February 1, 2012 priority deadline for scholarship award/upgrade consideration.

  • Recipients are responsible for making on-campus housing arrangements through UCA's Housing Office.
  • Recipients may require NO remediation in any subject area.  All remediation must be completed before entrance to UCA in the Fall 2012 semester.
  • To receive the full benefit of this scholarship, students will need reside in university housing.
  • Early application for admission is recommended in order to be considered for the academic scholarships.
  • Academic Scholarships for entering freshmen are  COMPETITIVE.
  • An 8 semester high school transcript will be required for scholarship disbursement.

 

UCA Academic Scholarship students need to meet the following criteria to maintain their Academic Scholarship.

  1. Remain continuously enrolled in at least 12 hours each semester during the term of the scholarship.

  2. Complete 12 or more hours and earn at least a 2.5 GPA each fall semester.

  3. Complete 30 or more hours and earn at least a 3.25 GPA each academic year (fall and spring terms combined).
