Economics, Finance, and Insurance & Risk Management
UCA’s Department of Economics, Finance, Insurance, and Risk Management is committed to providing a broad-based, high-quality undergraduate education for students. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for entry into their business careers and/or graduate studies with the skills to succeed in a highly competitive global economy. The fields of economics, finance, and insurance focus on understanding the operations of markets, determining sources of money and other resources for investments, making appropriate investment decisions for scarce resources, and managing risk to prevent loss.
The EFIRM faculty is dedicated to excellence in teaching and also provide individual mentoring for students through the advising process. Our faculty is also actively engaged in research and many students have an opportunity to enhance their resume by working on their own research projects with faculty mentors. Each major within the department has unique career opportunities for graduates and our faculty and staff are committed to working together to enhance each students skill set to prepare them for successful and rewarding careers.
