For the fall semester, Staff Senate is offering a volunteer opportunity for employees to earn holiday time.
UCA Athletics needs volunteer ushers to serve during home basketball games at Farris Center.
Details
- For each home game, we need seven (7) ushers.
- Alternates will be contacted in the event of cancellations.
- Volunteers will receive holiday time for all the hours they work, as well as a soft drink and snack.
- Note that ushers will need to be present until 10 minutes remaining in the game.
- Games worked in 2021 will earn holiday time for the 2021 holiday break. Games worked in 2022 will earn holiday time for the 2022 holiday break.
Requirements
- Volunteers are expected to wear comfortable clothes and appropriate shoes for standing.
- Occasional seating will be available, though ushers should be able to stand for peak periods.
- Ushers must arrive 1.5 hours before tipoff of each game.

Volunteer positions raise money for Staff Senate to use to benefit as many UCA staff members as possible through Staff Senate sponsored programs, including the Staff Emergency Fund, Staff Senate Scholarships, and Employee Recognition (Employee of the Quarter, Year, etc.).
