Department announces Outstanding Students for 2017-2018

The College of Liberal Arts (CLA) Academic Honors Convocation was held in McCastlain Hall on Sunday, April 29, 2018. Dr. Peter Mehl, Interim Dean of the CLA, welcomed faculty, students, and family members attending the convocation. Dr. Michael Hargis, Interim UCA Provost and Dean of the College of Business, gave opening remarks in which he congratulated the students chosen for the awards presented by the departments of English; History; Languages, Linguistics, Literatures, & Cultures; Philosophy & Religion; Political Science; and Sociology, Criminology, & Anthropology.

Dr. Clay Arnold, Chair of the Department of Political Science, announced the winners of the department’s annual awards:

Outstanding Student in Political Science:  Keely Smith

Outstanding Student in Public Administration:  Aaron Newell and Chad Jones

Outstanding Students in International Studies:  Sydney McConnell and Alexis Bibbs

 

Department announces Outstanding Students for 2015-2016

The UCA Department of Political Science announced its “Outstanding Students” for 2015-2016:  Kenneth Stice & Meredith Herring (Political Science program), Clara Plum & Katelyn Wilkins (Public Administration program), and Kayla Close & Stephanie Daigle (International Studies program).  Kayla Close, Meredith Herring, and Katelyn Wilkins were also honored as finalists for the College of Liberal Arts “Outstanding Student” award for 2015-2016.

Dr. Clay Arnold, Chairperson of the UCA Department of Political Science, presented the awards to the students during the UCA College of Liberal Arts’ Academic Honors Convocation held in Doyne Health Science Center held on Sunday, April 24, 2016.  Dr. Steven Runge, UCA Provost, and Dr. Maurice A. Lee, Dean of the UCA College of Liberal Arts, spoke at the honors convocation, which included undergraduate and graduate student recipients of outstanding student awards and scholarships from the Departments of English, History, Philosophy & Religion, Political Science, Sociology, and Languages, Linguistics, Literatures & Cultures.

The UCA Department of Political Science announced its “Outstanding Students” for 2014-2015:  Bryan Altman (Political Science program), Matthew Goss (Public Administration program), and Autumn Reddell & Brianne Smith (International Studies program).

The UCA Department of Political Science announced its “Outstanding Students” for 2012-2013:  Jennifer Blansett (Political Science program), Benjamin Lykins (Public Administration program), and Jake Logan & Emily O’Neal (International Studies program).  Each of the students was honored at the UCA College of Liberal Arts’ Academic Honors Convocation in Doyne Health Science Center held on Sunday, April 21, 2013.

The UCA Department of Political Science “Outstanding Students” for 2011-2012 are the following:  Megan Rutherford Danielson, Sara Bayles, & Austin Hall (Political Science program), Brett Roberts (Public Administration program), and Michael Tyler & Shannon Kelly (International Studies program).  Each of the students was honored at the UCA College of Liberal Arts’ Academic Honors Convocation in Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center on April 29, 2012.
