Dr. Hartwick is 1998 graduate from the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science with emphasis in OT and from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2022 with a Post-Professional Clinical Doctorate in OT with a Low Vision Rehabilitation Graduate Certificate. She has practiced in a variety of practice areas including school systems, hippotherapy, skilled nursing facilities, acute care, and outpatient therapy. For the past 18 years, her primary focus has been in adult inpatient rehabilitation. Dr Hartwick’s area of expertise include neurological rehabilitation and low vision. She received her NDT certification in 2005 and has used those skills in treating clients suffering from stroke and other neurological impairments over the years. She has served as a fieldwork educator for 15+ years and has had the opportunity to share her knowledge and passion for occupational therapy with fieldwork students. She desires to continue this enthusiasm and share her knowledge and experience with occupational therapy students in the classroom. Dr. Hartwick’s research interests include low vision evaluation and treatment with the acquired brain injury population, adult neurological rehabilitation, and driving assessment and training utilizing a driving simulator for clients with neurological impairment.
