UCA students, graduate nominated in film festival

Four students and one alumna from the University of Central Arkansas in the Master of Fine Arts in film degree have been nominated in the Best Student Short Films category in the Rock City Film Festival. The festival will be held in Little Rock at the Ron Robinson Theater on May 16–18. 

This is the first time in the festival’s seven-year history, all five nominated films in the Best Student Film category were made by students or alumni from the UCA MFA program at the University of Central Arkansas.

The nominated films and directors are listed below:

  • “The In-Between”
    Aidan Kolokithas–2nd year MFA student, Cave City, Arkansas
  • “Canchas”
    Paula Blanco Perez–2024 MFA graduate
  • “Exile”
    Victor Keas–1st year MFA student, Conway, Arkansas
  • “Trixie, Darling”
    Erin Mitchell–2nd year MFA student, Searcy, Arkansas
  • “Mess”
    Rachel Elisabeth–2nd year MFA student, Mena, Arkansas

ABOUT THE ROCK CITY FILM FESTIVAL
Rock City Film Festival will kick off its seventh year on May 16-18 at the CALS Ron Robinson Theater in Little Rock. Rock City (formerly the Made in Arkansas Film Festival) was founded in 2019 to showcase the work of Arkansas’s independent filmmakers and has expanded to bring their films from all over the world back home to Arkansas.
