May commencement

The University of Central Arkansas will hold Spring Commencement on Saturday, May 2 in the Jeff Farris Health and Physical Education Center on the campus.

University officials will confer 864 undergraduate degrees and 228 graduate degrees during three ceremonies.

The commencement schedule is as follows:

  • 10:00 a.m. College of Education, College of Liberal Arts and College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics
  • 1:00 p.m. College of Business and College of Fine Arts and Communication
  • 4:00 p.m. College of Health and Behavioral Sciences

UCA President Tom Courtway will deliver a challenge to the graduates. Dr. Steven Runge, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, will be master of ceremonies. Dr. Benjamin Rowley, 2015-2016 Faculty Senate president, will address the graduates on behalf of the faculty. Ashley Ross, 2014-2015 Student Government Association president, will bring greetings from the students at the 10 a.m. ceremony. Zach Carter, 2015-2016 Student Government Association president, will bring greetings from the students at the 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. ceremonies.

Three representatives from the UCA Alumni Association will also deliver greetings from the alumni: Latonya Matheney, president of the Black Alumni Chapter of the UCA Alumni Association, at 10 a.m., Kyle Schnebelen, member of the Young Alumni Chapter of the UCA Alumni Association, at 1 p.m. and Alex McDonald, member of the Board of Directors of the UCA Alumni Association, at 4 p.m.
