Mr. Steve Williams, Chairman and CEO of Maverick USA, Inc., will speak at UCA on Thursday, November 1st at 1:40 p.m. in the College of Business Auditorium. The lecture is sponsored by the Milton & Claudia and Granger & Jan Davis Lecture Series, which is designed to bring prominent business leaders to the UCA campus to interact with students and the local community. Mr. William’s lecture title is “Trucking’s Transformation: The Next Chapter”.
Steve Williams is Chairman and CEO of Maverick USA, Inc. Founded in 1980, Maverick USA, Inc. is the parent company of Maverick Transportation, LLC and Maverick Logistics, LLC. Maverick USA, Inc. operates over 1,200 power units providing flatbed, specialized and temperature controlled services to the metals, glass, machinery, building material, food and beverage industries throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Williams has been involved in industry advocacy groups where he currently serves as Chairman of The Alliance for Driver Safety and Security and Chairman of the American Transportation Research Institute. He also is the past Chairman of The Americans for Safe and Efficient Transportation (97,000 pound legislation), three time Chairman of the Arkansas Trucking Association and Chairman of American Trucking Associations in 2004-2005. Williams has served on the Executive Committee of the Transportation Research Board of The National Academies of Science.
