Before I report on the latest operational status, I want to share a note of thanks to all of our faculty, staff, and students for your continued patience during another strange chapter in a strange year. Whether you are on campus today or have not been on campus since prior to the first wave of ice last Thursday morning, I am so very appreciative of all that our UCA community is doing to be helpful, responsive, and flexible as we navigate these two weeks of the semester.
As all of you know, a second and potentially larger snow system is forecast to move through the area on Tuesday night into Wednesday. We are in conversations with state and local officials as well as utility companies regarding the relative impact of those projected storms. Please pay close attention to communications on Tuesday afternoon and evening as we consider further adjustments necessary for later in the week.
As for tomorrow’s operation plan, all academic instruction scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021 will continue to be remote. Instructors will continue to communicate with students, so please watch your UCA email closely for updates. Students in clinical sites should check in with their supervisors. While instruction will remain remote tomorrow, campus will remain open for essential services for our students in the residence halls and apartments. Supervisors, in coordination with division vice presidents, should communicate with employees regarding on-site staffing needs. Offices should otherwise utilize their remote work plans, as appropriate.
Hours for essential campus services will be as follows:
- Dining Options
- Christian Cafeteria will be open for breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner from 4 to 7 p.m.
- Chick-fil-A in the Student Center Food Court will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Einstein Bros. Bagels in Donaghey Hall will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Twisted Taco in Donaghey Hall will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Starbucks in Torreyson Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with only the northside entrance (door facing the courtyard) open.
- The HPER Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Torreyson Library will be closed, but library services will continue to be available via the website here.
- The Student Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- The C-Store in the Student Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; the C-Store in Bear Village will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- The Student Health Clinic will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., by appointment only. Please call 501-450-3136. COVID-19 testing and related questions may also be addressed by calling this number.
- Only limited shuttle service between Bear Village and campus will be provided on Tuesday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. by calling (501) 697-5540.
