New Director of Special Events

Ashley Love ’07 has been named director of special events. Love succeeds Don Bingham, who became administrator of the Governor’s Mansion for Governor Asa Hutchinson in January 2015. She will oversee activities associated with the President’s Home and other campus venues.

New Dean of Education

Northwest Arkansas native Dr. Victoria Groves-Scott is the new dean of the College of Education at the University of Central Arkansas. She began on July 1, 2015.

UCA Presented with $3M Check to Endow Chaired Faculty Position

University of Central Arkansas President Tom Courtway was presented with a $3 million check from the Arkansas State Highway Commission and the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) to support and expand the University’s supply chain logistics management program.

UCA Alumnae Are Inaugural Inductees and Principal  in Arkansas Women’s Hall of Fame

Two University of Central Arkansas alumnae were inaugural inductees in the Arkansas Women’s Hall of Fame. Dr. Mary Lowe Good ’50 and Johnelle DeBusk Hunt were among 11 women and one women’s organization that were inducted during a ceremony held on Aug. 27, 2015 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.

Beach Volleyball Coming to Campus

Women’s beach volleyball is coming to the University of Central Arkansas after the UCA Board of Trustees voted to add it as the 18th varsity sport at the University.

They work anywhere from 16 to 20 hours a day, four days in a row, in the sweltering summer heat. They carry luggage up and down stairs for 2,000 incoming freshmen students and put in more than 200 hours of work over the course of three months.
