Going the Distance: Clinician Immerses Into Alaskan Culture for Holistic Treatment

Beard always knew her career would not be typical. After she graduated from the University of Central Arkansas’ College of Health and Behavioral Sciences with a master of science in communication sciences and disorders, she completed a clinical fellowship at Kidsource Therapy. When she learned about itinerant positions in rural Alaska in 2015, she immediately applied and landed a gig with two remote villages in the Yukon region.

Half Century Club

The UCA Alumni Association inducted the Class of 1971 into the Half-Century Club. They also honored the class of 1970. Alumni enjoyed brunch and shared memories in Buffalo Alumni Hall over Homecoming Weekend.

More than 100 people attended the Alumni Awards in McCastlain Hall on Homecoming Weekend. Jeremy S. Owah ’03 received the 2021 Alumni Service Award, and Morgan Hager ’04 received the Young Alumni Award.
