The UCA Now: Impact Arkansas and Beyond campaign tour is on the road. The tour provides an opportunity for President Davis to tell alumni and friends of the importance of our historic $100 million campaign for the university, students, and communities.

Half Century Club

The UCA Alumni Association inducted the Class of 1971 into the Half-Century Club. They also honored the class of 1970. Alumni enjoyed brunch and shared memories in Buffalo Alumni Hall over Homecoming Weekend.

Alumni Awards

More than 100 people attended the Alumni Awards in McCastlain Hall on Homecoming Weekend. Jeremy S. Owah ’03 received the 2021 Alumni Service Award, and Morgan Hager ’04 received the Young Alumni Award.

The University of Central Arkansas launched the public phase of the largest fundraising effort in university history on April 9. The campaign, UCA Now: Impact Arkansas and Beyond, is a comprehensive capital campaign with a goal of raising $100 million.

Baxley Foundation Scholarship Lifts Financial Burdens

When University of Central Arkansas graduates Jessica Chavez ’21 and Amanda Okolo ’21 logged into separate Skype meetings in 2018, they thought the sessions would be a follow-up interview for the UCA scholarships they had applied for. The conversations quickly turned into celebration upon hearing they both were awarded a Baxley Foundation Scholarship.

Jessica Harden ’03 Takes Lead of Design at Getty Museum

When enrolled as an Honors College student at the University of Central Arkansas, Jessica Harden ’03 began unraveling what she understood about the world. She challenged her beliefs, became exposed to different philosophies and followed her curiosity. As head of design for the J. Paul Getty Museum, she facilitates visual experiences that help others do the same.

State of the Arts

In its latest economic impact study, Americans for the Arts, a national advocacy organization, found that the arts and culture industry generated $166.3 billion in economic activity in 2015.

Combating Distrust

Murry is a nurse and currently serves as a lead clinical case coordinator at Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway where he assists patients in the transition from hospital to home care. He understands through firsthand accounts the distrust some African Americans have in taking the COVID-19 vaccine.
