Dr. Angela holds an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Research from the University of Memphis. She is a licensed school administrator (TN) and a recent American Council on Education Fellow. She has been a leader in K-12 as a founding principal of two independent schools, the designer of a public charter school, an executive coach, a consultant, and a school board member. She has served as a leader in higher education at historically white institutions, a historically black college/university, an art college, and a college for women in the Middle East. She has authored newsletters, journal articles, book chapters, and books, including In the Presence of a King about her presence at the final speech of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. Angela currently serves as Chief Diversity Officer and Associate Vice President for Institutional Diversity and Inclusion at the university.
