UCA will hold spring commencement ceremonies on Thursday, April 30th, and Friday, May 1st. The university relies on the support of employees across campus to ensure that this event goes smoothly! With most of the ceremonies occurring during regular business hours, we encourage supervisors to allow employees to serve at commencement as their work assignment for the day.
Student volunteers are also invited to join in the occasion for volunteer service hours! Duties include greeting guests, scanning tickets, passing out programs, providing directions as ushers, and assisting with accessible seating.

UCA employees will receive Staff Senate Volunteer Time (up to 16 hours of which can be accrued as earned leave each year) for any volunteer time outside of their typical work hours. (For example, this means that if a volunteer’s work day typically ends at 4:30, that volunteer will not accrue time for volunteer hours occurring before 4:30 pm on Friday.)
